For many of us our teachers — perhaps one teacher in particular — stand out as heroes of our formative years. Our cross honors our Teachers, these often unsung heroes whose persistent efforts helped shape us into the persons we are today.

Our cross is adorned with symbols of the vast areas of knowledge, wisdom and personal formation that teachers impart to their students. Letters for literacy, language and literature, numbers for math and measures. Science is represented by Einstein's formula and the interactions of “you, me, us” symbolizing lessons in personal relationships, community and personality formation. A globe stands for geography, ecology and global perspective. A clock stands for history, perspective, efficiency and time management.
