The traditional ancient symbol of healing, the staff of Asclepius - or if you prefer the brass serpent held up by Moses -  becomes the center upright of our design. In the middle, the healer's hands hold the spark of life amidst a circle representing the cycle of life from birth through death.

These elements combine to pay tribute to our medical professionals. We honor these tireless heroes who have devoted themselves to applying their art and science to keeping the spark of life vibrant for all of us, but especially among those who are the sick and broken. 

The cross signifies their total commitment and sacrifice as well as their service, honor and courage. We combine all of these powerful symbols into a prayerful remembrance of the doctors, nurses, technicians and aides in our community who apply their learning, skills and effort to keeping us well.
